What's Your Favorite Ice Cream Flavor?

Sacramento's top 10 flavors and some great toppings to enhance that ice cream cup of yours. With all our fantastic parlors, Sacramento ice cream lovers are certainly blessed. Vanilla Vanilla is a universal flavor. If you pull out any number of recipes, you will probably find that it calls for vanilla. Vanilla is used to flavor almost anything, including cookies, fountain drinks, tea, and even breakfast cereals. All of these items use vanilla as a flavoring because it enhances the taste and makes it more enjoyable, while at the same time retaining the taste of all of the other ingredients. If you were to add cocoa to any of these items, it will all just taste like chocolate. You would lose all of the other delectable flavors to the overpowering chocolate. Toppings to try out: Strawberry sauce, butterscotch, sprinkles. Chocolate Chocolate is North America’s favorite flavor. When surveyed, 52% of adults responded with chocolate, and only 12% responded with vanilla. U.S. chocolate manufacturers use 3.5 million pounds of whole milk every day to produce chocolate. Toppings to try out: Hot fudge, cookie crumbles, strawberries. Cookies N'Cream When you eliminate boring old vanilla and chocolate, cookies and cream might be the most popular ice cream flavor in America. In a 2017 survey, the International Dairy Foods Association found that vanilla and chocolate were the top-selling flavors in the United States — followed by cookies and cream in third place. According to Food 52, cookies and cream is the most-searched-for ice cream flavor in 14 out of 50 states (second place was vanilla). Toppings to try out: Cookie dough, caramel sauce, sea salt. Anything to enhance the cookies already in the ice cream! Mint chocolate chip If mint chocolate chip is your favorite, You’re pretty cool, to be honest. Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream, was nspired by an Anonymous Ben & Jerrt Fan in 1984. Way back in the early days of our first Scoop Shop in Burlington, Vermont, we had a bulletin board where people could suggest new flavors for Jerry and Ben to make. As the ideas flowed in, an anonymous flavor idea stood out. It seems like such a no-brainer now, but back then it was revolutionary. What if you put big chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough into vanilla ice cream? One of the everlasting temptations of baking cookies is sneaking a bite or two of the dough. Sometimes it’s hard for the baker to get the dough onto the pan, since cookie dough is really tasty before it even hits the oven. Toppings to try out: Chocolate sauce, peanut butter cups, raspberries. Buttered Pecan Butter pecan is one of my all time favorite flavors. In this recipe the butter flavor comes in the custard base, achieved by browning the butter first before adding the other ingredients. Toppings to try out: Crushed toffee pieces, blueberries, and popcorn. Cookie dough Different from its chocolate counterpart, this ice cream focuses only on the vanilla and cookie dough flavors. Toppings to try out: Fresh blueberries, caramel sauce, MandMs. Strawberry When it's good, strawberry ice cream is as good as ice cream gets. That means it has an intense strawberry flavor, is magnificently creamy and smooth, and avoids the classic strawberry ice cream pitfall of having too many frozen chunks of not-very-sweet strawberry. Toppings to try out: Caramel sauce, pineapple, gummy bears. Peach Cool off this summer with a refreshing scoop (or a few) of peach ice cream. Offering the classic peaches-and-cream combo in every bite, this fruit-based ice cream is the perfect way to showcase bright summer flavors. If you’re able to use fresh Georgia peaches, you’re one of the lucky ones. Make a batch while peaches are in season, and enjoy the silky-smooth treat all summer long. Pair it with a fresh slice of peach pie, a toasted pecan topping, or just a warm evening outdoors. This delightfully creamy dessert is sure to become a summertime favorite. Toppings to try out: almonds, pecan, whipped cream. Neapolitan Toppings to try: Hot fudge, cherries, mini peanut butter cups.A topping for every flavor. With these flavor and topping parings in mind, your ice cream cups will be overflowing with deliciousness that will make your whole house happy.
